British Farming Awards 2016 Guest speaker
Olympian Sally Gunnell OBE, a farmer’s daughter who hails from Chigwell, Essex, has been announced as the guest speaker at this year’s British Farming Awards.
Sally remains the only woman ever to hold four major track titles concurrently – Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth – and a world record.
Following her retirement from international athletics, Sally developed a career as a television presenter and motivational speaker. Today, she mixes motivational speaking with running corporate well-being programmes, and is a high-profile supporter of healthy and active family initiatives in the UK.
In addition, she is also a Prince’s Countryside Fund Ambassador.
Sally says: “I am really looking forward to speaking at the British Farming Awards and meeting some of the UK’s finest farmers.
“Growing up on the family farm, I believe the principles and dedication I learned strongly contributed to my sporting career and its success.“
